Ceremony of renaming

Alain Cailau and I led a ceremony of renaming.

Together we and the participants journeyed through the unknown phonemes and syllables within the body’s natural pronunciations until within, upon, or into us a new name appeared. Some names arose in another language, or non-existing languages, or sounds. Still, each new name represented a new identity, a new opportunity,  a new knowing of self.

After a two-month residency with IDOCDE, the ceremony of renaming was one of a five-day intensive given by Alain and me for the IDOCDE 2021 Symposium in partnership with Impulstanz.
